Cos Cob Archers, founded in 1954, is a group of archery enthusiasts who are devoted to all facets of the sport. Our members represent people from all walks of life, brought together under the banners of competition and camraderie.
WHAT FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS?
The club maintains a regulation 28 target field course and a 40 target 3D course located on 23 rustic acres in Cos Cob, Connecticut. The course and clubhouse are available to members year round for practice, scheduled competitions or shoots, and general relaxation. Equipment is also available for member use.
CLUB ACTIVITIES
The club sponsors several 3D tournaments throughout the year, as well as open shoots and junior events. With the addition of a junior archery team, we expect things to really be hopping in 2011! Come on down and enjoy the fun! While we do not supply archery equipment or lessons to the general public, members are ready to help out at our open shoots, which are open to the public.
WHAT IS A 3D TARGET?
3D targets are life size, colored and textured foam targets made to look like real animals. There are 40 of these targets on our course. By combining the varied sizes of the targets with the appropriate terrain, we are able to create an unlimited combination of shot types and difficulty, which allows you to make a day at the range a "walk in the park" or a an "extreme archery" challenge.
